Read only memory

I went to Corporal today, answering Figueira's question about going back there, since I dropped the sessions with the others to concentrate on him. I watched them train and the expression of Zangrandi looking at me so strangely didn't come unseen. He took advantage of a pause and came up to me. Figueira soon followed him.
"You know, I have a feeling I know you from somewhere. Strange, I didn't think so when we first met, but now I do. You are not strange, I've seen your face before."
"Maybe it's just an impression or maybe you had seen me somewhere before; maybe I'm one you know by sight."
"Yes, who knows?", was the only thing he said to me. Figueira and I exchanged looks. I said it was risky to be messing with people's memory like this. You could create a state of mental confusion that would be difficult to get out of. Figueira started thinking about the situation and said it might be true.

After the practice, Mr. Costa appeared and showed Figueira and me an e-mail received from Centenaria, an association from São Paulo; Figueira frowned as he heard the name of association.
"Through his association, Martins would like to know if he could come train here two weekends before the State Tournament. I told him so. It's the good son coming back home for some time", and Mr. Costa giggled. Figueira tried to look calm, but his nervousness could be seen from kilometers. Mr. Costa asked him what was going on, "you are not afraid of him, you two are friends anyway, so why feel uncomfortable?"
"Bring him on", said Figueira, "I'll be here as always."
"He wants to eat you alive. Easy to see his greatest desire is to pin you so you can never stand up again."
Figueira looked down.
"Look at me", Mr. Costa said rudely, "the floor is not talking to you. You know how fierce he is, it's an honor to be the target of a desire like this, don't you think?"
"Yes."
"He wants to train with everybody, but he especially asked to train with you and Rodrigo privately."
"Much honor for this poor loser..."
Mr. Costa almost had a fit when he heard this.
"You say that word again and what you're gonna lose first of all is your neck. Saturday, the Column will be here. Get ready", and went back to his business waiting for him. I was content with the role of an observer, especially because I can't interfere with their domestic issues. Thinking back I see I already have too many issues in my hands to just go round tackling some more. But what arises now is a new fact. And what has been shown in these sessions with Figueira. Elements, people screaming "assassin" at him, then Zangrandi asking him to come back to Corporal and telling of a kid after him. Is it confusing if I put this things together?
